My personal computer is a 15-inch, late 2013 Macbook Pro. It’s got maxed-out specs, and I use it for everything from browsing to streaming to programming. By the time it was no longer supported by Apple’s MacOS updates, basic tasks would turn the laptop into molten lava. In May, 2024, I decided to give Linux a shot with the hope that it would extend the laptop’s life. Two years on, it feels like a brand-new computer, and I prefer it to my M1 Pro work laptop.
I documented the steps to configure the laptop from OS installation in this Codeberg repository. I’ll eventually integrate these steps into this post.
